| I would actually argue that "The Barber And His Wife" isn't really a song - or certainly a very unfinished one if anything. More of a fragment that becomes one of the musical/textual themes in the show. Indeed, "Poor Thing" (with its intro which is a repeat of the "Barber/Wife" theme) seems more like a true complete story song. |

| I agree. No doubt Laura just forgot "Poor Thing," but it seemed odd to me that somebody could remember "The Barber and His Wife" from the same show and forget "Poor Thing"! | |

| Looking over the song list from Sweeney I never realized how few solos he gets. Mrs. Lovett gets four. She's clearly the lead of the show I guess. (sort of) I wonder if it was written that way since they had a big star as Nellie. | |
