You can get a sense in the clips (link below.) From my perspective (gay man), I would not view his character as a biological woman in this production.
I think it is very open to interpretation though depending on the audience member.
On a related note, I loved seeing costumes that are not the Broadway revival black that we have come to expect. It gives the production a freshness that appeals to me. |
