I was not criticizing her, I simply meant that she (and it appears a lot of others who are not "rich" {in the Marie Antoinette sense} and who are "progressive") were at an event that is being criticized for its lack of sensitivity to the world in which it took place. I don't really want to debate this at any length, but I will note that to many New Yorkers seeing people lined up for a Broadway show (even the ones dressed in their not-finest shorts and tishirts) is an emblem of conspicuous consumption when they can't pay their back rent or feed their family. We have a lot to sort out but I think the notion that the arts are an extravagance is an unhealthy one. And one need not take a vow of poverty to prove one's bona fides as a progressive human.
