| The show was never conceived as a vehicle for Streisand and other actresses- Lainie Kazan, Mimi Hines, Marilyn Michaels- enjoyed great success in the role (not to mention the curiously-cast Barbara Cook) so there's no reason to think it can't work again with someone else in the role. Beanie Feldstein seems to me a bit "nice" for the role, but she is an actress and she will rehearse and the director will direct and hopefully we will have a worthy production to go and see. |
