| It’s a big-hearted show full of power anthems about a charismatic queer outcast who wants to be a drag queen and is trying to get his father’s love, featuring a Hijabi-wearing best friend and a showy part for a famous drag queen. If they can nail the ending (which was a bit weak in the West End), I think this could be a hit. Certainly stunt casting could keep it running for a while, as there is never a lack of Ru Girls to put into it (I’d love to see Katya or Ginger Minj or Lawrence Chaney, to name just a few folks that I think could sell tickets). |
