There's more to theatre than Broadway. Hines and Michaels have had substantial careers in regional theatre, TV, and nightclubs.
I loved Rosie O'Donnell early in her career when she appeared in films and especially on her TV show, where she tirelessly promoted Broadway. In recent years, not so much. Was she ever really considered for the role of Mrs. Brice or was she just trying to promote herself?
It's a little hard to believe that Lady Gaga, who is probably at the pinnacle of her career, would take a year or more off to star in a Broadway show. Frankly that scenario sounds as realistic as the Streisand/Gypsy remake and the Glenn Close/Sunset Blvd film. Besides, O'Donnell is Irish, not Jewish.
