I did notice the show went "on hiatus" for a week in the spring, rather than try to sell seats during a Jackman vacation.
The Midler model -- use a B'way star for one show a week and to cover vacations -- is great as long as it works. It may well be that Jackman doesn't want another performance running next to his. Not unrelated: When Peters took over for Midler, she did all 8 Dollys.
