She maybe didn't get free tickets offered to her before the pandemic while the show was running. Folks in journalism don't get paid that much in comparison to folks in other professions, and she's not required to pay for tickets to see something just because it's in the realm of theater. Did she know back then she'd be reviewing the move version? They have to be judicious with their resources, like anyone else. I didn't like what I heard what the show was about, sounding as it did like someone spreading lies and zooming out of control, hurting people without being really taken to task. I've heard the recording; it had some very nice music, delivered very well by Platt and the cast, but I didn't want to spend Broadway prices to see it. Similarly, that reviewer might like musicals, but doesn't like the premise of this one.
