| Usually they spread out the evening with musical numbers (and sometimes in the past, scenes from plays) to space out the awards, which basically are one after another of people thanking their loved ones and their career helpers. That's fine, and it is what it is, but not by having continuous award after award; like in a musical, it's good to put ballads between up-tempos and/or comedy numbers or otherwise ballads start to sound the same after a while. Entertainment between some awards serves a real purpose. |
