| I recall in high school turning the channel and seeing "Walk Him Up" from "Purlie" performed. I wanted to see that musical. Granted I was a penny less youth in Missouri at the time but that "urge" and "desire" was there! Watching "Annie" win everything in June 1977 was a big reason I moved to NYC six months later ( and the smartest thing I ever did ). It's basically corporations that run Broadway and streaming is the new big deal! No worries about TV ratings for one! And it doesn't help that tonight's "award" show is a big expensive pat on back! |
