For a show that ran too long and got too monotonous, "It Takes Two" was an obvious song to cut. I'm also not sure that we needed to devote five minutes to helping Ben Platt process his movie bombing.
I think they were counting on LMM's end of show magic from previous Tonys, but that was him writing a whole rap on the fly, and this was them mostly doing pre-rehearsed copies of stuff we'd already seen... I don't know, if we were going to have a megamix, maybe bring out the cast of "Six". |
