"It Takes Two" was just strange.
Also, I had a rather contentious time with a male student (college senior) last year who insisted on singing "Last Midnight" in class, at pitch, because he wanted to be able to play the Witch at some point and was convinced no one would transpose the songs for him if so. He could hit the notes but to me it sounded like a drag act instead of an honest take on the song. (And I apologized for voicing my opinion on that, but I meant it all the same.) He could have lowered it to tenor range and it might have been fine. But now I feel I'm gonna hear from him with an "I told you so..." :-( |
