Sergio Trujillo I understand as he was the choreographic mind for the show which I especially enjoyed this year, however Schele Williams is the associate director on Ain't Too Proud which seems odd to me. And if it's time for making space at the table why is Sammi Cannold a Creative consultant? She is the example of privilege and another example of how parental influence runs deep in American Muiscal Theater. Her father, Mitchell Cannold is primarily known as a producer of documentary films, and her mother, Dori Berinstein, is a Broadway producer.
She directed a show on a bus with funding from "inside the house", a documentary with funding from "inside the house" and now is a consultant on the Tony awards? It's time for making space at the table that privilege has been crowding. |
