| Skin is one of the great works of the theatrical literature, a study of the human condition that, as expansive as it was when the world was confronted with Hitler, has new directions in which to move in the 2021 universe. On many levels. Over and Over/All About Us is a not-very-good musical (I saw it in Westport) with a predictably great score and a book, by Joe Stein, that was sadly not up to the task of paying proper homage to its source material. I would be so much more excited to see a fantastic production of Skin. Maybe LCT can arrange a concert of the Kander and Ebb score as a consolation prize for you... |
