| Yes, I remember. But I wish I didn’t. Despite a great cast, it was absolutely dreadful, so much so that I’d be very reluctant to give it another try. I’m not sure the fault was in the direction. I have a queasy feeling it’s in the text, which may have played well in 1942 when the play opened but which has dated terribly. I think this was my most disappointing evening at a Delacorte production over the entire 45 years I’ve been going to them. |
