| I will see a production of Our Town at Asolo Rep, shortly after the first of the year. My memory of all my theatrical adventures in eras bygone now plays tricks on me, so I'm not sure if I've ever seen it on stage or not, but either way, this is something I am very much looking forward to as it is one of the greatest plays ever written. I also share your love of thngs Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, but all I've heard from their score is the couple of cuts on the Tom Jones Hidden Treasures CD. I'm curious, how did you get to hear the entire score and is it possible to share it? Of course The Fantasticks is my favorite of theirs, the whole musical is perfection, but beyond that I am moved by Philamon and love the score of Celebration, although I don't find that the whole musical lives up to the vitality of the score. Enjoy Our Town as I am sure I will in a couple of months. |
