I'm glad that that "Four Ages of Play" thing worked for you in 1993. I was already starting to get snooty and thought it was weird. But in retrospect it seems glorious compared to the short shrift the plays are now given!

I loved when they just showed a scene....period. James Earl Jones and Courtney Vance in Fences, Alan Rickman and Lindsay Duncan in Les Liaisons Dangeureuses, Linda Lavin and Jonathan Silverman in Broadway Bound are all etched in my memory.

Failing that, why not a slick trailer? You could get to the basic core of a play in under a minute. I don't think it's that hard.
