| I agree--for me, it is the Great American Play (maybe the Great Universal Play, though I realize it has much that is distinctly "American" or at least Western in its worldview). It may come close to being actor proof--I expect even a middle school production would still move me to tears (for the right reasons)--and that is NOT to knock middle school theatre programs, of which I wish there were more of--but I don't need to see a middle school production of Rent (yes, they exist). Actually, I don't need to see ANY production of Rent, but that's a whole other "rant." |
