That was the year that Blakemore won both Tony Awards for directing - he also received the statue for "Copenhagen".
That was also the year that Michael John LaChiusa was nominated for four Tony Awards in two categories - Book and Original Score for "The Wild Party" and "Marie Christine" - and went home with nothing; we haven't seen him on Broadway since. |
