Two San Diego Theatres Have “Garden” world premieres

The Old Globe is currently running Michael John LaChiusa‘s chamber musical “The Gardens of Anuncia,” which was inspired by the life of dancer and choreographer Graciela Daniele. Ms. Daniela directs and co-choreographs.

La Jolla Playhouse has premiered a new play by and starring Charlayne Woodard. Titled, “The Garden,” it features a garden set with real flowers and an ending that is sure to have audience members trying to piece together what happened on their drive home.

I have reviewed both productions, though, unfortunately, not for TB Regional. I am the only theatre reviewer for my other site who is willing to cover indoor productions as of the moment. I’ve linked the other site below.

Speaking of gardens, I wish someone would do an uptake on Albee's "Everything in the Garden.: It's less than perfect, but really socks it to the hypocrisy of suburban life and mores.
