The banner ad for "David Byrne's American Utopia" blasts this hyperbolic quote, but it attributes it to no one. Not a critic, not an audience member, not even a Tweet. Just the words surrounded by quotation marks and then the title of the show.
Their website offers no further clarification, offering us: "The best live show of all time". Right on time.
So now we have a quote, not attributed, and then a follow-up slogan. Am I missing something? Is this an iconic Byrne lyric? Was this said somewhere that we all should just know? Or have we reached a new era in advertising? |
