The show had its first preview Oct 1 and was originally supposed to open Oct 31, so this is a big shift, decreasing the number of preview performances to 12 over 12 days. This is a new play to Broadway, although it played regionally before the pandemic at Syracuse Stage before transferring to Baltimore Center Stage.

I imagine they are moving up opening night to try to get the attendant publicity sooner rather than later, but 12 previews is extremely short for Broadway nowadays. The Normal Heart had only 10 previews in 2011, because it was a late arrival and had to open in time for Tonys consideration. Have there been other Broadway shows over the past twenty years or so to have had so few previews before opening?
