I first saw Cynthia Harris at Baltimore's Center Stage when I was in high school. She was a wonderful Sabina in The Skin of Our Teeth. We had done the play, and she and others in the cast spoke with us at length after a matinee on a snowy Sunday. Lovely experience. About two and a half years later, I saw her in Company on B'way. She had replaced Barbara Barrie (the group that included Jane Russell and Marian Haley as Amy). A versatile actress given the rangy career she earned and deserved. RIP.
Note: awaiting an obit; her colleagues noted her passing in social media. Harris was 87. |
