If Allentown was a vibrant, cosmopolitan mecca of good food, good weather, and good art, then sure

I think you're displaying a somewhat American-centric idea that other parts of the world are a step down. My God, if I was given the chance to move to Barcelona, I'd snatch it in a heartbeat.

You also might be surprised that Barcelona is actually pretty English speaking, at least as the ubiquitous second language, and it has become one of those international enclaves where people who work jobs remotely (especially in tech) set themselves up and live a pretty good life. The food is excellent and not too expensive, there's great entertainment, especially if you like dance, and it's a very livable city.

And when we're talking about an actor who has only appeared on Broadway three times in the past 20 years (and has split audiences over whether her voice is still pleasant to hear), this is a plum gig.

You'd be amazed at the amount of people there speak better English than in the States. A very impressive city than is the Jewel in the Crown of Spain.

That caused the controversy is known to Spain audience. Again you put your subjective meaning to my words in my statement. I’ve been to Barcelona and it is a great city. I know someone that stayed there through most of pandemic and recently returned to US. But you stated basically her career has survived her missteps and I’m pointing out that you can’t assume that based on this gig. That just a big assumption on your part for factual proof that her grooming actions are forgotten—sounds like Trump logic to me.

If she was toxic, then it would not be worth the hit that the "Next to Normal" creators would take for creating this production around her. And with the way the internet works, people who know who she is have access to the same information we do. And again, the idea of being cancelled is that you can no longer work in major level gigs, and certainly can't do anything at the level of your current career. For someone who has not been on Broadway since 2016 (when she was basically in the ensemble), headlining a Barcelona musical experience is not something I would call a step-down.

No Trump logic required.
