TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD is TRANSCENDENT

Brilliant performances, Daniels and Keenan-Bolger are phenomenal, replacements are seamless, story more resonant than ever. Curious about Sorkin's rewrites.

Full house, still and video cameras capturing the moment. The most still and quiet audience I have experienced in years.

Aaron Sorkin made a curtain speech to thunderous applause ("are you sure you know who I am?") and said that it had been 563 days since Mockingbird last performed.

If you haven't seen it yet, please go. #ALLRISE

We were there last night as well - a stunning production with some curious re-writes. I would also say this was the worst behaved audience since being back on Broadway though.

do tell! those around me, with the exception of a woman COUGHING HER HEAD OFF throughout the second act, were very well-behaved.

Can you describe what some of the rewrites are?

JD's career longevity (and range) is incredible. I just saw Terms of Endearment again. He's always done such heavy lifting in every medium.

MOVIE/TV - This might be his most meaningless role, but I loved him in Purple Rose of Cairo. Enjoying him in American Rust.

Think I saw him in God of Carnage on Broadway IIRC.

Not meaningless to me. I loved “Purple Rose of Cairo.” (And it has Zoe Caldwell in a rare screen role.)

Absolutely! I first saw him in Johnny Got His Gun at Circle Rep. Amazing: An 80-minute (or so) monologue in which he couldn't move, and it was riveting.
