Glad to hear that Nicky has more to sing in this revival, especially since Karimloo has such a gorgeous voice. But I wish he had a better solo than ''A Temporary Arrangement.'' I heard a demo of it (on YouTube), and it's not one of Styne and Merrill's stellar efforts. It's easy to see why it got cut.
I've always thought of ''Funny Girl'' as a giant showcase for Fanny, but Nicky is such a thankless, supporting role. (Ditto for the 1968 movie.)
That said, Sydney Chaplin, the original Nicky on Broadway, got a Tony nomination for Best Actor, so I imagine Karimloo will make the most of it.
Also of note: This ''Funny Girl'' revival will open April 24, which happens to be Barbra Streisand's birthday. Coincidence? ;)
