That was Fela! And they didn’t cancel until about 10 minutes before curtain. It was a Sunday night so there wasn’t much else playing to run to another show.
I’ve had two shows cancel mid-performance. Jolson in Sydney Australia because the lead actor hit his head in the first act. They started the second act and then had to cancel. I guess he had a concussion and they brought him to the hospital. Another was a local production of present laughter and one of the actresses was sick and left at intermission and they couldn’t get the understudy in time. |
