| I was surprised disney opened both shows which are tourist and kid based when i would think both of those groups are low attendance. I’m surprised it is only $200k a week loss. That means the show is probably bringing in at least $500k. That is more than I thought it would during this time. |

| Aladdin has only done two performances since they opened, they've been dark the rest of the time because of the COVID outbreak. | |

| I wouldn’t be surprised if they shut down and reopen in the spring. It’s not as though the shuberts or nederlanders are charging lease payments for a dark theater. Does Disney have another show near development completion to put in Amsterdam? I guess Disney could move lion king back into Amsterdam. |

| ...according to a top Broadway source, who candidly adds: “At the end of the day, Aladdin is a kiddies [sic] show. At the end of the day? How about the beginning and middle of the day too? Was this supposed to be some blockbuster revelation? OF COURSE it's a kid's show. |

| Well..... The people who were kids when the movie came out are in their 40s now. It was special in a way the re-re-re-makes of recent years haven't been. So I can see some adults enjoying it on their own, beyond sharing it with their kids. Something like Frozen, yeah it's for kids. It's too new for its audience to have grown up. Aladdin, though, was still at the beginning (middle?) of the new golden age of Disney animation, with a good dose of the sensibility that makes real golden-age animation last: it knew how to aim at both adults and kids without tipping wholly in either direction. There's enough to keep adults interested that goes over the heads of kids without diminishing what they see. Does that translate to enough childless adults to sustain the Broadway show now? No, probably not. But it's not exactly a "kid show" in the way that some are. |

| Important to note the source of this "source" is OK, the publication with the lowest indicia of reliability on the planet. That said, the fact that this and a host of other evergreens (and non-evergreens) are not going to make it through the winter is also not a blockbuster revelation. | |
