His singing in the LaGuardia H.S. production of SWEET CHARITY is very tuneful and solid. Maybe not a future Billy Bigelow but more than strong enough for most mid-century musicals!

At YouTube, there are clips of Chalamet singing ''Wilkommen'' (from ''Cabaret'') and playing Oscar in ''Sweet Charity'' at LaGuardia High. Chalamet claims that his classmate Ansel Elgort (soon to seen in ''West Side Story'') used to land all the leads in their school's musicals. Chalamet also sings ''Everything Happens to Me,'' a Chet Baker classic, in Woody Allen's ''A Rainy Day in New York'' (2019).
