It fits your question because you ALSO SAID that it could be two gay men. Well, Will and Jack are gay men and they never have a sexual/romantic relationship.

I think you raised an interesting question, but I do wonder why it was only raised in this thread, and I'm dismayed that this sidebar has generated much more response than Rebeck's essay pointing out the deeply ingrained misogyny in our theater (which we also see occurring on a regular basis on this board).

But to toss out a few more:

Belize and Prior, Angels in America (he has a man, uptown, and he has since long before he entered the story of the play)
