Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Engineers, Architects, Accountants, Pharmacists, Nurses, Real Estate Agents just off the top of my head.

I am not saying it is a one-for-one comparison. What I am saying is that actors have chosen a profession that requires a certain maintenance (especially for a all-singing/all-dancing ensemble member) - a "price of admission" so to speak. Should it be up to the individual production to compensate you for that time? Ultimately, the production cares only for your ability to perform the task as requested. What you need to do to to be able to do that is up to you (and I am guessing varies greatly depending on the individual)

Again - I strongly support the people with skin in this game to fight for what they believe they want and need. This particular argument just doesn't move me.
