Now I understand why I expected to read the complaint and feel that Reid was a difficult actor: you got your facts wrong in this post.

To correct three errors:

- The complaint indicates that when Reid was asked to play the male characters as more heteronormative, they took the note and made the change. I read the complaint here as being the way this request was brought to them, i.e. by fellow cast members mocking Reid’s gender expression.

- Reid did not ask to wear colored nail polish, nor is colored polish allowed. The women are allowed to wear nude polish that is not visible from the audience. Reid wanted to do the same.

- When Reid performed the blocking as directed, a fellow cast member told Reid that he wanted to beat them up, later expressing that he felt uncomfortable being touched by Reid because of Reid’s gender and sexual identity. When Reid brought this the stage management, they were told that they probably did something to deserve being threatened for doing their job.

Despite these issues, Reid continued to be employed and even had their contact renewed this summer.
