Even in the 60s people thought Olivier's performance was "naive or racist or misguided." As the article points out, his performance was compared to Amos and Andy.

The film is a great document of theater history and changing mores. If shown with context and perhaps comparison to other performances, it is very useful.

But showing it on its own without discussing the controversial points about it back in the 60s and today, is just foolish.
