The end result of this is to create smaller and smaller isolated bubbles of "wokeness" while creating larger and larger groups of people who just want to be as far away as possible for anything that might touch upon these issues and just be with people who are like them.

It's a debate that's going on in Black America as well and it's a debate that the Republicans are particularly interested in because they see a possible opening in gaining an advantage.

Historically black communities in nyc voted largely for Eric Adams in the last mayoral primary, a pro-policing tough-on-crime candidate. Maya Wiley, a mixed race, police reform candidate with all the right rhetoric, won in largely white districts and lost in historically black communities.
