They removed about a third of the seats. The capacity went from just under 900 to just under 600. The running costs must be very high for a commercial production in a theatre with fewer than 600 seats.
And having said that, they're doing dynamic pricing and that's why the ticket prices have gone through the roof. When booking opened, the prices for everything other than the table seats and the meal packages were on the high side, but not startlingly so - but now, for the New Year's Eve performance a seat that cost me £50 in the priority presale is going for £300. |
