Why take anybody's press release seriously? The Met--like everyone else--is trying to sell tx. They'll say anything they think might do so. Take a look at how they write up every other opera in the season.
And every year they present an opera, usually abbreviated, for "holiday programming" to try to tap into the Nutcracker gold of ballet companies and lure the kids. This year they're doing two. How well they're selling is another story. |
