Did I say it should be boycotted? Did I say there were no Afro-Latinx actors? We’re not going to get very far if you’re arguing against things I’m not arguing.

In terms of the conversation around light-skinned actors, I do suggest you look more deeply into colorism and how the cultural legacies of slavery and systemic racism still drives the mainstream interest in lighter-skinned POC over darker-skinned POC. I think the issue is more important than you’re depicting it.

That said, if you friends didn’t go to the movie because they were told not to like it by Twitter, then they could perhaps be making better life choices.
