| I really enjoyed the movie, but at the same time I was disappointed. To me the movie dragged, because of all the extended dialogue sequences, example: the buying of the gun sequence. “Too much exposition Little Sally”. I guess they were added to fill out the drama behind the songs? I was totally disappointed with Cool, probably my favorite dance break in all of the musical theater canon. I loved the way America kept building and building but I got no sense of the disagreement built into the song. The dance at the gym was just sort of there. Nothing special. Hearing Bernstein music so loyally orchestrated and played was the highlight of the movie for me. No need to see this again. | |
