ii very much liked Ansel Elgort(esp comparted to Richard Beymer.) I Ilked his rapport with valetina in Somthing's Comin. She Gave a wonderful performance, way beyond 'let's give Rita a cameo) I liked Tony Being added to Cool'....... I missed the 1.24 min of the Taunting music. It's Basically the music for "AmericA" turned upside down, the destruction of Anita's love affair with America.
Laurents removed it from the last Bway WSS when it went on tour. Maybe to give the musicians a rest?. But Bernstein included it in his DG recording........ my time for the music may not be accurate- I'm relying on memory..............The only Bway score I love more is(Possibly) THE KING AND I '....... |
