Whereas, for me, this was the first WSS where it seemed completely obvious that this 'Romeo and Juliet' were absolutely as NAIVE as they were first written to be, completely bonkers to believe that they would be okay or that either of their 'families' could possibly get on board with things.
I was rooting for them... but I also finally felt the true heft and scope of all that they were up against.
To me, it made the tragedy more honest. More true to our own experience, especially more true to our specific experience in *America.*
And it was the first time that it really felt like we were seeing two 'houses,' both ALIKE in dignity. I liked that a whole lot.
