That's not correct. We are not cancelling shows because of a few being infected. We are cancelling shows because the productions cannot cover the infected people. The fly in the ointment is that we are testing too slowly and too late. That has to change. It is expensive to do it right, but producers have to decide if spending that money is better than losing the revenue for entire performances. Ditto for having more coverage. I think the crisis is accelerating rn in a way that few anticipated. The protocols that are in place now were engineered to deal with Beta, and worked ok for Delta. They fail against Omicron. I assume you are not suggesting that people should work with mild or no symptoms, any more than you would with the flu. And yes cast and crew may feel differently than you about covid infections. If you had a child at home who could not be vaccinated because of age, or anyone at home who had risk factors, would you want them exposed to what you might bring home? If the answer is yes, don't answer that question.
