Red Bull Theater's The Alchemist played its final performance on Wednesday December 15th.
Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Founder and Artistic Director | Jim Bredeson, Managing Director) today announced that its acclaimed Off-Broadway production of The Alchemist played its final performance on Wednesday December 15th at New World Stages. Scheduled performances through Sunday December 19th are canceled due to breakthrough cases of COVID-19 within the company. All ticket holders will be refunded at their point of purchase.
The non-profit organization still plans to offer a high-definition, multi-camera recording of the production on demand next month. The stream will be offered as "pay-what-you-can" with a suggested donation. More details will be announced as soon as possible.
The World Premiere adaptation of Ben Jonson's classic comedy is by Jeffrey Hatcher and directed by Jesse Berger, the team that created the hit comedy The Government Inspector. Featured in the cast were Nathan Christopher, Stephen DeRosa, Carson Elrod, Manoel Felciano, Jacob Ming-Trent, Louis Mustillo, Reg Rogers, Jennifer Sánchez, and Allen Tedder. The creative team included Alexis Distler (scenic design), Tilly Grimes (costumes), Cha See (lighting), Greg Pliska (sound), and Tommy Kurzman (wigs and makeup).
