You seem to have misunderstood my post, so I'll clarify.
I find the Public's new mandate understandable in theory but completely unworkable. The only way for it to be implemented successfully is for the Public to provide an onsite rapid testing option.
However, requiring boosters in all who are eligible (i.e., individuals who are 6+ months past initial full vaccination) can and should be done. The Met has already announced that all eligible audience members, artists and staff will be required to be boosted as of January 17. Broadway and Off-Broadway should not drag their collective feet in following suit.
The situation is changing rapidly, but I see no reason to require boosters + a negative test, as there's still very little evidence of spread among audience members. (Backstage is another story, obviously, and rightfully so -- there is a whole different set of factors at play.) |
