It was the professional ticket scalpers that would invest in tickets and resell. But it was a little limiting to doing it by mail or offices in Jersey. Now anyone can buy tickets and instantly resell them on Ticketmaster. So the number of tickets sold to scalpers is much larger now.
I used to buy tickets as soon as they went on sale and used Amex presale to get good seats. Now those presales are rear orchestra or extreme side for full price. I stopped buying early about 8-10 years ago. Now I just hope for house seats released 48 hours before at regular or even discounted prices. |
