| I agree the audience should be masked but that is to protect other audience members. I’m a little surprised there hasn’t been more contact tracing leading to theaters over the last few months—not only radio city. But the facts are the show ran for 4 weeks without incident. Omicron was first reported in San Francisco on dec 1. It was first identified in nyc on dec 2. In two weeks all havoc has broken loose. So your logic that unmasked audience members caused cast covid cases to shut down is stretching it. I’d be curious to know how air does flow. Usually stage smoke gets to audience pretty quickly. My guess (and not fact) is the airflow might be from stage into auditorium and not the other way. And it’s a lot easier to cancel two final weeks of Christmas show than shut down a broadway show permanently which I fear might be happening with omicron with fully masked audiences. |
