There has been some reporting that the home test isn't particularly good for Omicron.
It has a high false negative rate for Delta too.
So basically the OTC tests, aren't particularly reliable.
The other problem with this policy is that, while the regular PCR test is covered by insurance (or free if you don't have insurance), the rapid tests usually aren't--which means a bill anywhere from $15 - $300 depending on where you go.
