| I don't love the play or the movie but I keep coming back to it just for Anthony Hopkins' performance as Richard the Lionheart. It is a pleasure to watch, consistently surprising and witty, actually very funny in a close to the vest way. It's also deeply felt without ever going overboard and, at least for me, the one completely believable performance in a film and play that has never felt quite convincing. |
