| i had a fireside theater copy of the play, i loved it, reading it over and over. When i saw the movie, i was quite disappointed; Except for Hepburn they played it so straight. It was as if they thought they had another BECKET or A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS. But God is absent from LION' I thought it should be played as ALL ABOUT EVE in a castle, with card board sets. Still, I always watch it when it it pops up on TV(and Hepburn did deserve her Oscar |
