While Ms. St. Martin is responsible for the protocols the industry has adapted for the return of the Broadway industry and its audience, it is evident that the systems are not working and the spread of the Omicron variant is running rampant through our community.
The Omicron variant is highly transmissible and is running rampant throughout the country, present now in all 50 states (not to mention something like 90 other countries). It has surged faster than any of the previous variants. On the up side, the South African cases may be showing that it subsides as quickly as it peaks. But certainly, its spread among the Broadway community can not be laid at the fault of the existing protocols, which are sensible and sound. And I'm certainly not go to demand anyone's head on the back of it. |
