What is the difference in editions of Sondheim on Music by Mark Eden Horowitz?
I’m familiar with the first edition having skimmed over a library copy when it was first published. I have an academic music theatre background and remember loving the level of detail. I purchased the most recent edition through an online bookseller and was disappointed upon opening to see it was the “Less is More Edition” which is almost half the page count. The intro to the edition says it is “so named because the song listing and discography have been removed” but then says it’s “even more accessible to a broader range of readers.” Was any other content removed for the “Less is More Edition”?
Anyone recommend a certain edition of this book? |
